Day 2 Route Description

Day 3 was a day when laundry took up a good part of the day. Waking up and looking out the window of the B&B the first thing we saw was a wonderful scene on the waterfront. Then breakfast before we started our day. After asking about laundry we found that the nearest location was in Portree just over 1/2 way up the island. We found the laundromat after some searching, then it was off to find change for the machines while Karen waited at the laundromat. Went to a bank, which was close, and different from home they sent me to a the Post Office where banking like this happens! Now off hunting for the Post Office, found it and managed to get the change required. What a hassle!

Back to the laundromat to get the laundry started. Once started we went off for a walk to look for places of interest. Found a shop that had real kilts for sale, Karen purchased the kilt and required accroutements for Devin as well as a neat purse for Kerry. Then back to the laundromat to change the clothes over. A good part of the day was spent in the laundromat and area before we were done. Then off to explore.

We had read about some standing stones not too far from Portree and off we went in search. Of course, we didn't have a great idea on where they were but that is part of the magic. We headed back of town to the highway we used to get to Portree and headed off north again. On a guess we decided the stones must be down a small side road, don't ask my why. We headed down the narrow road and found the standing stones right beside the road. As we were not sure where we were, we thought it best to turn around and head back to the main road. A short ways up thought it would be great to head to the west coast, so off on A850 to see where it took us.
